Dietary Aide/Assistant Cook

Job Summary

The Dietary Aide/Assistant Cook will assist the Dietary Manager to plan, implement, and provide nutrition services for the hospital.

 Essential Functions

  • Correctly place and store clean equipment, dishes and utensils in assigned storage areas.
  • Check in food items and supplies.
  • Prepare daily nourishment sheet.
  • Prepare daily tray cards.
  • Hang daily menus in Nursing Home dining rooms.
  • Place menu in mailboxes weekly.
  • Maintain and improve professional knowledge and skills.
  • Provide excellent service to patients, guests and physicians in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Treat fellow employees with the same respect and consideration as customers.
  • Display appropriate dress and personal hygiene while on duty.
  • Review and maintain working knowledge of employee’s specific departmental policies and procedures.
  • Immediately reports all incidents, injuries and/or grievances upon receipt of occurrence to the department head.
  • Attend and participate in all mandatory in services and meetings related to their department.

Qualifications

  • At least six months’ experience in healthcare dietary department, preferred.
