Job Summary
The Dietary Aide/Assistant Cook will assist the Dietary Manager to plan, implement, and provide nutrition services for the hospital.
Essential Functions
- Correctly place and store clean equipment, dishes and utensils in assigned storage areas.
- Check in food items and supplies.
- Prepare daily nourishment sheet.
- Prepare daily tray cards.
- Hang daily menus in Nursing Home dining rooms.
- Place menu in mailboxes weekly.
- Maintain and improve professional knowledge and skills.
- Provide excellent service to patients, guests and physicians in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
- Treat fellow employees with the same respect and consideration as customers.
- Display appropriate dress and personal hygiene while on duty.
- Review and maintain working knowledge of employee’s specific departmental policies and procedures.
- Immediately reports all incidents, injuries and/or grievances upon receipt of occurrence to the department head.
- Attend and participate in all mandatory in services and meetings related to their department.
Qualifications
- At least six months’ experience in healthcare dietary department, preferred.
