Housekeeper

Essential Functions

  • Perform routine cleaning of the patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
  • Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
  • Assist visitors with directions whenever requested.
  • Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
  • Report safety hazards as appropriate.
  • Observe safety precautions at all times.
  • Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
  • Replenish supplies.
  • Follow all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
  • Maintain set quality standards when performing job duties.
  • Work day, evening or night shifts as assigned.
  • Use and maintain equipment properly.
  • Cooperate with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations and interdepartmental objective.

 Non-Essential Functions

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Requirements

  • Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
  • Complete annual education requirements.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Wear identification while on duty.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.
