The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting with sides and other various duties to keep the kitchen running smoothly. This position will include evenings and Weekends.
Essential Functions
- Assist with sides for employees.
- Help with meals for meetings (QA, Doctor’s luncheons, Board meetings, etc.)
- Help work pick up door for breakfast & lunch.
- Help with Med/Surg when needed.
- Assist with Nursing Home MDR at breakfast.
- Help keep reach in cooler stocked and freezer in neat order.
- Help make tea.
- Stock café for breakfast and lunch.
- Keep work area clean and neat.
- Help keep walk-in cooler and freezer in neat order.
- Remove any outdated items.
- Seal, label and date all open items.
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning assignments to include removing garbage.
- Maintain and improve professional knowledge and skills.
Non-Essential Functions
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Professional Requirements
- Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
- Complete annual education requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Wear BCMS issued identification badge while on duty.
- Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
- Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.
- Ensure adequate staffing of assigned departments.
Qualifications
- Restaurant experience, preferred.
- Experience with menu development and dietary restrictions, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of culinary trends and best practices.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to understand and meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence.
- Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
- Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.
- Work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and prioritize scheduling of work.
- Maintain confidentiality of all staff, medical, financial, and/or legal related information.
- Complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.
