Dietary Aide

Job Summary

The Dietary Sides Aide is responsible for assisting with sides and other various duties to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

 Essential Functions

  • Assist with sides for employees.
  • Help with meals for meetings (QA, Doctor’s luncheons, Board meetings, etc.)
  • Help work pick up door for breakfast & lunch.
  • Help with Med/Surg when needed.
  • Assist with Nursing Home MDR at breakfast.
  • Help keep reach in cooler stocked and freezer in neat order.
  • Help make tea.
  • Stock café for breakfast and lunch.
  • Keep work area clean and neat.
  • Help keep walk-in cooler and freezer in neat order.
  • Remove any outdated items.
  • Seal, label and date all open items.
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning assignments to include removing garbage.
  • Maintain and improve professional knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

  • Restaurant experience, preferred.
  • Experience with menu development and dietary restrictions, preferred.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

  • Knowledge of culinary trends and best practices.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Ability to understand and meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
  • Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.
  • Work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and prioritize scheduling of work.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all staff, medical, financial, and/or legal related information.
  • Complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.
